The Multiple Listing Service (MLS) is the tool that all Realtors use for Listing, Selling, Maintaining all Listed properties that are For Sale. Realtors use this tool to show their prospective buyers, sellers, investors property that are qualified to buy.

 

Why is this important? Well glad you asked! As most of us know Realtors and Real Estate agents are Commission Based jobs. Meaning that the only way a Realtor or an Agent gets paid for selling property is to sell a home that is listed on the MLS or by asking for a commission for their representation on a deal. Realtors and Agents know for a 100% Fact that if and when they sell a home on the MLS they will be paid for their services and time unlike taking one of their Hard Earned buyers to a For Sale By Owner. They also know that when dealing with another Realtor, or a property listed on the MLS, that the transaction will be represented and presented in a fair, ethical, and non- threatening environment which the Agents, Buyers, and the Sellers are protected every step of the way. Realtors and Real Estate agents are licensed throug their respective States and are mandated to carry E/O Insurance in order to maintain their active status.

 

Why do FSBO's want access to the MLS? Well quite frankly- Its because of the large pool of Pre-Qualified and Pre-Approved buyers the Realtors represent. In our Local MLS Board- WE have over 900 Real Estate Agents and Realtors that are working to sell homes. Wouldn't you want all of these Agents Working for you to sell your Home? Of Course you do! It would be a huge mistake if you didn't utilize this avenue of potential buyers for your home!
